“The purpose of the Special Meeting/Work Session is to discuss the Dual Immersion Program and Hailey Elementary School enrollment,” states the notice of the BCSD Board of Trustees work session scheduled for Thursday, May 24th from 12:00pm until 1:30pm.
The Dual Immersion (DI) program is currently under consideration by the BCSD Trustees as how to best manage it. Recently the DI program coordinators presented to the Trustees four different options for managing the DI program into the future:
- Keep schools and DI program the way they are
- Limit DI to two schools
- Restriction/Reduction of DI strands at all four schools: Hemingway, Hailey, Woodside, Bellevue
- Create a Magnate School at one of the above mentioned schools
Parents of Hailey Elementary students have express concern about large class sizes within the school. Both the DI program and HES enrollment are the purpose of the BCSD Board of Trustees Work Session this Thursday, May 24th from 12pm – 1:30pm at the District Offices: 118 W. Bullion St., Hailey. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
